About Us

My name is Summer Hinson, I am from Whiteville, NC. I started dancing at the age of 3. I have taken and taught several styles of dance.. including tap, jazz, lyrical, hiphop, pointe, ballet and much more. I attended UNCG for a bachelor of fine arts in dance and a minor in K-12 dance education. Since the age of 10 I dreamed of opening up my own studio, and in 2019 my dream came true.
My goal in my studio is to spread my love for dance to children and young adults in our local community. Dance has always been my outlet to express myself and to release all emotions that I can’t stay. With that being said dance is a “Hidden Language” hence the name of the studio. My passion has and always will be dance and I hope that one day I can make a difference in not one, but plenty of children’s life.
It would be my pleasure to spread my love of dance with your child. If you like a dance family and nurturing environment this dance studio is the place for you. If any questions or concerns, please contact me through our website. I hope to hear from some of you all soon.
See ya on the dance floor! 😉

My name is Azalie Donahue I am from Nakina,NC. I started dance at the age of two and a half and gymnastics at the age of five. I’ve assisted and taken so many styles of dance. I’ve been an assistant gymnastics coach since I was twelve years old up until I started coaching in 2022. I was on the dance team in middle school and high school. I’ve also been a competitive dancer and even won a scholarship. My heart has always been on the dance floor for as long as I can remember and now I actually get to watch my heart dance on the floor this year because my daughter will start her first year of dancing here at HLDC. I can’t wait to continue my love for dance and gymnastics with you all!
Hi everyone! My name is Athena Donahue and I am from Nakina, NC.
I first began dancing at the age of 6 beginning with tap and jazz but quickly added on many other styles including pointe, lyrical, hip hop, clogging, and musical theater. I also participated in dance classes at high school and began competing in select styles. I taught clogging for 3 years and I didn’t officially resign from dance classes until I became 27 years old! In addition, I began gymnastics when I was 10, assisted for 2 years, and began teaching in 2022. Dance and gymnastics has always been a passion of mine and will forever remain a part of me. I’m excited to be able to use my training in hopes of instilling the same love and passion into each and every kid I teach!
